U.S. Cost Gives Back!|
As part of U.S. Cost’s 2009 Community Outreach efforts, the Arlington, Atlanta, Dallas and Miami offices each chose a local organization to support. MIAMI The Miami office collected donations to help local disadvantaged children have a better holiday. The organization they were involved with was the Archdiocese of Miami. ATLANTA From November 23, 2009 until December 8, 2009 the Atlanta office did a coat drive. The coats were donated to an organization called Jars of Clay Outreach. The group is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta and is a volunteer driven non-profit organization that provides social services and outreach programs designed to meet physical, spiritual, and long term needs of the people living in the area. A group of USC Employees met on December 12, 2009 to deliver the coats to Jars of Clay. 
DALLASThe Dallas office donated an SUV full of toys and items to the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children on November 9, 2009. The hospital was established in 1921, and through the generous support of friends in the community, all medical services are provided without charge to patient families or insurance. 
ARLINGTONDuring the months of November and December 2009, the Arlington Office will be collecting non-perishable food items, clothing and items of hygiene. The items collected will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is the largest public, non-profit hunger and nutrition resource in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. The mission of the CAFB is to feed those who suffer from hunger in the D.C. Metropolitan Area by acquiring food and other non-perishable items and distributing them through their network of member agencies; and to educate, empower and enlighten the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition. Each year, the CAFB distributes 20 million pounds of food through 700 partner agencies. |
