Atlanta, Georgia, USA -- June 21, 2006 -- U.S. COST, a leading provider of estimating and cost management software, announced the release of Success Estimator 6.6, the latest version of its flagship product, Success Estimator. First released in 1991, Success Estimator 6.6 pushes efficiency and productivity to a new level with broader search capabilities, expanded audit functionality and improved networking features.
Productivity improvements are immediately evident in Success Estimator’s Look-Up Tool, the software’s primary cost database interface. The Look-Up Tool allows estimators to search among thousands of cost items or assemblies using partial text based descriptions. Developers added advanced search features that allow estimators to select and then search multiple cost databases and historical estimates for a specific item at the same time. Typically, estimators have only had the option to search one database at a time.
In response to customer recommendations, Success Estimator 6.6 also includes a reworked Audit Log Viewer. A tremendous analytical tool, Audit Log allows the user to trace the history of an estimate from early development through project completion. In this new release, Audit Log features a simplified user interface and added features that allow estimators to easily control the size of each audit log as well as managing the quantity of “history” audit files.
Additional changes include the expansion of all description fields to 255 characters and accelerated performance for publishing estimates to Success Enterprise, U.S. COST’s browser-based estimate management and analysis application. Developers also redesigned the setup in version 6.6 with updates to the latest in technology and programming advancements. Success Estimator 6.6 includes Web-based license authorization.
