How do I install Success Enterprise?
The installation and setup of Success Enterprise differs significantly from its Windows-based client product. With Success Enterprise, installation takes place only once, at the point of deployment. In other words, Success Enterprise is only installed once, regardless of the number of ultimate system users. The reason being that Success Enterprise is a server-based product. Once installed on your server, it is easily deployed to any and all users without any additional client-based hardware or software. Due to its Internet/Intranet thin-based client interface, end users need only point their Internet browser to the server hosting Success Enterprise and login. It is that simple.

How is Success Enterprise different from Success Estimator?
The two products are quite different in nature, but can compliment one another quite nicely. First, Success Estimator is a Windows-based estimating tool, designed to run on your client computer. Success Enterprise on the other hand is a server-based, thin client, web-based interface product, designed to serve the entire enterprise. To allow Success Estimator to work with Success Enterprise, Success Estimator contains a unique feature that allows you to publish your cost estimate information to Success Enterprise. With the simple click of a button you can transfer all or a portion of your Success Estimator cost estimate from your client personal computer to the Success Enterprise server. This allows team members to continue to use the feature rich user interface of the Success Estimator product, while also taking full advantage of the collaborative nature of the Success Enterprise server.

Can Success Enterprise be used in a stand alone mode?
Success Enterprise is a server-centric application that requires the presence of a server connection. However, clients can use Success Estimator to create and work with their cost estimate on their local machine without access to the server. Once they've gained access to the Success Enterprise server, they can simply publish all or portions of their cost estimate information to the Success Enterprise server.

Will Success Estimator be supported along with Success Enterprise?
Yes, we actually see the two products complimenting each other for some time to come. The initial strength of Success Enterprise will be its collaborative and cross-project reporting features, multi-user access, and accessibility anywhere/anytime. The continued strength of client-based Success Estimator is its full featured, rich user interface and the stand-alone nature of the product when access to the Internet or network is prohibitive. In short, we see the two products working together for sometime to come.

The .NET Framework delivers business value with faster time to market, improved systems flexibility, and reduced costs.

Does Success Enterprise scale for concurrent users?
The Success Enterprise highly scalable Internet architecture is designed to accommodate literally hundreds of users. And, because Success Enterprise is completely web-based, you and your clients can add any number of new users without having to purchase new client-side hardware, software, or increase network capacity. Since Success Enterprise is designed to be installed on your server, it is up to you to decide how many professionals within your organization you want to include in your project estimating and cost management process.

Also, depending on permission settings established by the project coordinator or manager, Success Enterprise can allow an unlimited number of team members to work on the same estimate at the same time if so desired. This allows for true, concurrent multi-user team access.

Are parametric modeling capabilities similar to Success Estimator?
In a follow-on release, parametric modeling will be provided with not only the functionality of Success Estimator, but much more. Parametric modeling will be an integral component of the totaling process, which will be user extensible and customizable. Success Enterprise will provide access to the entire set of data for parametric modeling purposes.

Having said this, you can continue to use the parametric capabilities of Success Estimator to develop and run your parametric estimates. Once the estimate has been developed, you can easily publish your estimate results to the Success Enterprise server. This allows you to continue to use the parametric features of Success Estimator, while also taking full advantage of the power of Success Enterprise.

"It has been a real pleasure working with U.S. COST. You have all been very supportive of delivering an estimating system to BNG. At times when we were ''under siege'' you stuck to the task and delivered."
